Originally designed by Mark P. Finlay Architects in 1993, this brick clad Federal style home sits on two-and-a-half acres in Darien, Connecticut. Inspired by their southern origins and Dr. William Thorton’s Woodlawn Estate at Mount Vernon, the initial owners requested a home designed with a traditional aesthetic. Nearly a decade later, new owners came back to the firm requesting a renovation that kept the Southern style, but updating the residence with a modern elegance and more spacious interiors. This home was featured in At Home in Fairfield County magazine and received the 2011 A-List Award for Traditional Architecture over 7,000 Square Feet.
