New Canaan, Connecticut
This Georgian Style single family residence is set on the hill of a three-acre property in New Canaan, Connecticut. While the home measures a total of 10,000-square-feet, the goal was to create a ‘big, little house’ that could blend into the existing neighborhood. The house was designed in sections to avoid a singular, large volume that would loom over the site; smaller masses grouped around a central axis create an interesting composition and allow a comfortable flow through the house. Coffered ceilings and warm wood paneling on the interiors exude an understated elegance, while the exterior use of stone and slate emphasize a harmony with the natural surroundings. The updated classic home was featured in Period Home magazine and Better Homes & Gardens.
