Nestled beneath the canopy of the oldest live oak forest on Kiawah Island, this marsh front 6,200-square-foot home was designed within and around its protected site. The contemporary Southern Colonial style home embodies a comfortable efficiency; wide openings topped by flat arches utilize pocket doors to open up or close off rooms, allowing the size of spaces to fluctuate to meet the owner’s needs. Arranged around a central corridor running from the entrance to the rear of the house, the refined interiors are filled with antique Southern furnishings, original Audubon prints, an eclectic mix of decoys, and a grand piano. Every space in this home is utilized in this functional design. This house was featured in Luxury Home Quarterly magazine.
