Considered the first modern house in Fairfield for its revolutionary gravity heating system, this early twentieth century Connecticut farmhouse has since added many more modern conveniences over the course of several renovations and additions. Now nearly double its original size, the home expanded to incorporate a new country style kitchen, family room, and several bedrooms, and added a detached garage that complements the vernacular farmhouse style of the original residence. Because the half acre site sits in the center of town, a stone wall incorporating an outdoor fireplace and fountain was built to run the length of the street and offer privacy. The home’s covered porches overlook manicured gardens and hedges that decorate a lawn the owners use as a relaxing retreat and entertaining space.
