The storied Fisher’s Island Club on Fisher’s Island, NY sits at the mouth of the Long Island Sound between New York and Connecticut. With a stunning ocean backdrop the understated, yet refined, new clubhouse is a perfect reflection of this historic club, originally formed in the 1920’s. MPF Architects designed a 35,000 square foot clubhouse that maximizes the opportunity to enjoy the incredible golf course and water views with a series of covered outdoor terraces and screened porch. With interiors by Tom Scheerer, the MPFA’s shingle style clubhouse captured the nostalgic history of the club with thoughtfully crafted spaces that feel like a home away from home. With an emphasis on the game of golf, our firm utilized extensive clubhouse design experience to address the membership’s program requirements. The clubhouse’s design incorporates more defined member dining spaces. The club now has the capability to host large functions while simultaneously and comfortably servicing members. Golf operations are more efficient and run seamlessly without interfering with daily member functions for non-golfing members. The overall utility of the design has improved club efficiency and allowed for the expansion of services offered to the members.
