This Shingle Style home was designed to serve as a distinctive icon of the Long Island Sound, thoughtfully situated on a formerly abandoned and unsightly lot. Now transformed, the waterfront property is meticulously detailed in both architecture and landscape, breathing new life into the Black Rock coastline.

The interiors reflect the client’s personality and the spirit of the locale, with a palette of varying blues that mirror the ever-changing hues of the Sound—visible from nearly every room. Traditional Shingle Style elements are woven throughout the design, including transom windows adorned with diamond motif divided lights that echo both interior and exterior detailing.

The 8,200 square foot main house and accompanying garages are gracefully nestled into the site, creating a sense of permanence and place. Unified by an exterior palette of Connecticut fieldstone, soft blue shutters, and stained cedar shingles, each structure feels both individual and harmonious, enhancing the home’s established yet timeless presence on the coast.
