Landmark Colonial

New Canaan, Connecticut

Set on four acres of rolling pasture and surrounding woodlands in New Canaan, Connecticut, this iconic early-20th-century residence has been thoughtfully reimagined through a series of renovations and additions that reflect classical architectural forms. The firm reconfigured the overall massing of the Colonial home, introducing a substantial new addition that houses a butler’s pantry, kitchen, several bedrooms, and a three-car garage. Designed to align seamlessly with the original structure, the addition mirrors the gambrel roof and dormer composition of the historic house.

Throughout the residence, new windows and doors enhance both function and appearance, while outdoor amenities—including a fireplace, patio, pool, and putting green—extend the home’s entertaining spaces into the landscape. Carefully integrated, the renovations and additions result in a cohesive design that honors the home’s historic character while accommodating modern living.
