Nestled beneath the canopy of one of Kiawah Island’s oldest live oak forests, this 6,200-square-foot marshfront residence was carefully designed in response to its protected natural setting. The contemporary Southern Colonial–style home embodies a sense of understated comfort and functional efficiency, where wide cased openings and pocket doors allow spaces to be opened or enclosed as needed, enabling the home’s scale to adapt fluidly to the owners’ lifestyle.

Organized along a central axis extending from the front entry to the rear of the house, the interiors are both structured and inviting. Refined yet collected, the living spaces are layered with antique Southern furnishings, original Audubon prints, an eclectic assemblage of decoys, and a grand piano, creating an atmosphere rich in character and personal history.

Each room is carefully considered, resulting in a highly functional residence that balances flexibility, tradition, and refined livability within a deeply contextual coastal landscape.
