Nantucket Yacht Club

Located in the historic downtown harbor of Nantucket, the Nantucket Yacht Club is a century-old institution where “traditions are honored and the past is respected.” To preserve and enhance the legacy of this distinguished club, a comprehensive, large-scale renovation was undertaken.

Working closely with the membership and the Town’s Architectural Review Board, Mark Finlay Architects developed a master plan and phased construction strategy to thoughtfully integrate extensive upgrades within the existing historic structure. The scope of work included full infrastructure modernization, new support facilities such as kitchens and bathrooms, and the rehabilitation of dining areas alongside the introduction of new member spaces.

At its core, the design reimagines the facility as a renewed yet familiar environment—one that respects and reinforces the character of traditional Nantucket architecture while supporting the evolving needs of the club’s membership.
