The Golf Club at Briar's Creek
The Golf Club at Briar's Creek
Johns Island, South Carolina
Designed in the Lowcountry tradition of South Carolina, this newly constructed 15,000-square-foot complex—comprising a clubhouse, teaching facility, and guest house—sits at the center of a Rees Jones–designed golf course overlooking the marshlands of the Kiawah River. Each structure responds thoughtfully to the region’s stringent coastal flood regulations while maintaining an appropriate scale for its function.
The clubhouse features expansive wraparound porches and floor-to-ceiling windows, offering members sweeping 360-degree views of both the course and the surrounding natural landscape. The design successfully creates warm, inviting interior spaces that seamlessly connect to the outdoors, fostering a relaxed, “home away from home” atmosphere for members and guests alike.
